Taghi Paksima is a Software Engineer, Agile Engineering Coach, and Tech Lead. He has been in software/IT industry for the past 15 years and has served different roles on agile teams since 2008. He brings a valuable mixture of technical and agile experience from fortune 500 organisations to start-ups. In addition to helping teams and projects as an agile coach, he also supports teams to adopt engineering practices such as DevOps transformation, CI/CD, metric-driven development, technical debt management, XP, TDD, continuous refactoring, as well as software and cloud architecture. Taghi speaks at public events promoting a holistic approach to agile transformation involving a strong focus on both people and technical excellence and the union of the agile principles and engineering practices. He is a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), Certified Scrum Master (CSM).

The inherent linear sequencing in Waterfall creates walls and barriers to collaboration between different roles and disciplines in the organisation. One such wall, of particular importance, is the lack of ongoing collaboration and communication between business and development teams. Agile has tried to break down this barrier by bringing the two disciplines to continually work together throughout iterations[1]. Further down the value delivery chain there is often a similar barrier between development and operations. The absence of tight collaboration between these two disciplines has been a major bottleneck, slowing down (and at times paralysing) timely delivery of software increments to customer. In the second decade of Agile, DevOps was born as a movement and a cultural shift to eliminate this very barrier.
